About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Budget Management: Manage the budget for the visualization services department, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of visualization processes, methodologies, and standards.
- Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data visualization and implement best practices.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of visualization services and make necessary improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Project Oversight: Oversee all visualization projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all visualizations are accurate, effective, and meet the highest quality standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and ensure solutions are aligned with business goals.
- Strategy Development: Develop and implement a strategic plan for data visualization services that aligns with organizational goals.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage data visualization specialists, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
- Tool and Technology Management: Evaluate, select, and manage data visualization tools and technologies. Ensure efficient use of resources and manage licenses.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members and end-users on data visualization tools and best practices.
- Data Governance: Ensure visualizations comply with data governance policies and standards.
- User Experience: Focus on creating user-friendly and accessible visualizations.
- Feedback Loop: Establish a feedback mechanism to gather user input and continuously improve visualization tools and techniques.
Minimum Requirements:
Work Experience:
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in data visualization, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fiel
Skills:
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data visualization and documentation.
- Budget Management: Experience in managing departmental budgets and ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Creativity: Ability to think creatively and design visually appealing and effective data visualizations.
- Project Management: Experience in managing data visualization projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView), SQL, and data manipulation.
