FC&C Manager

Key Responsibilities：

• Support and monitor the implementation and operation effectiveness of NFCM; deliver NFCM deliverables as per methodology, in high quality, and timely

• Master key company policies that Financial Controls & Compliance provides assurance on, including their implementing guidelines and procedures. This includes a comprehensive understanding of NFCM, customization of policies and requirements to meet overall SOX 404 requirements as well as unit specifics and needs

• Identify root causes of control issues and investigate, analyze and test possible solutions or measures for improvement. Prepare memos and reviews and agree issues with responsible management.

• Understand the business and stay informed about changes in business and financial risks

• Highlight risks to FC&C Head and local management, including significant, recurring and emerging issues where appropriate

• Develop key stakeholder relationships with local and global management team and process owners, FC&C organization, Finance and/or functional area(s) of responsibility to achieve overall financial compliance

• Build effective and transparent business partnering and advisory relationships with external auditors (KPMG) as well as Group stakeholders (GPO, GFC&C, Internal Audit etc.)

• Forster risk awareness of key financial risks and actively contribute to strengthen internal control environment within the organization, including training on compliance requirements to Controls Owners, onboarding key stakeholders(CFO, Head of Finance, etc)

• Deliver or support Global projects and implementations like Digital Landscape Transformation (LDC)

• Actively support FC&C working style by being inclusive, proactive, respectful, collaborative and results driven in alignment with Novartis Culture

• Act service and solution oriented to support and advise operation teams to maintain strong and sustainable internal controls over financial reporting

• Adapt and employ innovative approaches and methods to perform risk monitoring and control test, such as use of data analytics leveraging automation like Alteryx, Celonis.

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, subject area in Finance or Accounting preferred

• CPA/ACCA and CIA certification

• About 10 years of Internal Controls, SOX 404, accounting, compliance, audit experience required, including 3+ years of Financial Controls & Compliance experience

• Solid experience in Big 4 audit firms

• Basic knowledge and hands-on SAP experience

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence / motivate others under different hierarchy setting

Desirable Requirements:

• Project management preferred

• Skilled in digital tools or data analysis or IT audit experience and acumen is a plus
