About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Drive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Culture communication strategies and tactics: Lead the way in developing engaging ways to discuss diversity and inclusion that resonate with varied internal and external audiences. Your role is crucial in fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and part of a vibrant community while giving potential talent reasons to come work with us. You create a sense of belonging for people.
  • Partner with P&O to engage our leaders: Collaborate closely with our People & Organization team to develop engaging communications for our leadership community. Together, you'll co-create exciting programs that not only help our leaders grow but also drive the right culture, so work is enjoyable and fulfilling for everyone.
  • Provide guidance and execution for the Novartis Values & Behaviors: Offer strategic advice and hands-on support for our core values. Your efforts will bring to life for audiences, in simple ways, how our values and behaviors show up in practice and in action—leaving no doubt that we do what we say.
  • Support effective communication within P&O: Work as a collaborative team member within our People & Organization function to enhance their internal communication. Your role will focus on fostering clear and transparent communication channels, which in turn promote collaboration, trust, and shared success.
  • Lead innovation in employee experience channels: Take the lead in representing the People & Culture team in implementing new tools and channels aimed at enhancing the overall employee experience. You’ll ensure that we leverage our employees’ voices in various channels and social media to show the world what we do as an employer.

Minimum Requirements
Work Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required
  • Strong communications experience (internal, external or both) in a large multi-national company
  • Strong passion for the DEIC topic, including the employee experience of belonging and what it means to work for a company that holds DEIC on par with the achievement of business results
  • Ability to determine the needs of leaders across varied businesses and geographies and target them effectively
  • Strong acumen and comfort with technology
  • Ability to stay focused on priorities
  • Experience strategizing and creating owned, earned, and paid media
  • Skilled in creating integrated communication plans that leverage a mix of media types to achieve desired outcomes and drive engagement, brand awareness, and organizational impact.
  • Experienced in providing communications counsel to senior management; Able to navigate differing leadership personalities
  • Able to achieve results and to operate within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and senior executives to align communication strategies with organizational goals
  • A “go getter” that is always trying new things and is comfortable learning from failure

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $130,400.00 - $195,600.00 /year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
