Giving our audiences an emotional connection to what we do and how we do it. This dynamic leader is responsible for driving the communication strategies associated with several inspiring programs at Novartis, including Culture Lab, One Young World, and the "What's My Why" program. You will oversee our editorial and content calendar, curating compelling stories from employees to engage diverse audiences across various channels. Your role involves exploring new communication platforms, simplifying complex ideas, and staying ahead of cultural trends.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • As the Lead for Culture Lab and One Young World communications, you'll spearhead our efforts to captivate audiences with these and other transformative events and initiatives.
  • Co-lead the "What's My Why" program, crafting compelling stories that resonate deeply with our stakeholders.
  • Oversee our editorial and content calendar, ensuring a steady stream of engaging narratives that showcase our organization's values and impact.
  • Seek out and develop stories from our diverse team members, harnessing their experiences and insights to help direct the creation of meaningful content across a spectrum of communication channels.
  • Determine the most effective channels for reaching different audiences. You'll have the freedom to recommend and implement new platforms such as podcasts to enhance our storytelling capabilities.
  • Overall, this role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovative communication strategies, shaping how we connect with our audiences and inspire positive change through authentic and impactful storytelling.

Minimum Requirements
Work Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required
  • Communications experience (internal, external or both) in a large multi-national company
  • Steeped in what’s current and what’s to come; Pop culture guru who knows what generational audiences want/need
  • Strong imagination / out-of-the-box thinking
  • Ability to simplify and humanize complex concepts for wide consumption
  • Ability to know when Novartis should take a stand on certain issues
  • Creative mindset and the ability to lead from the heart
  • Comfortable with data and analytics; able to glean insights and make recommendations for how to improve
  • Experience strategizing and creating with owned, earned and paid media Experienced in providing communications counsel to senior management; Able to navigate differing leadership personalities
  • Able to achieve results and to operate within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and senior executives to align communication strategies with organizational goals
  • Business and organizational awareness​, enterprise perspective

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $ 130,400.00 - $195,600.00 /year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
