About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- All project-related objectives for assigned projects achieved, e.g., regarding quality, documentation standard, timing and right first-time performance and KPIs.
- Timely, exact and (GMP/non-GMP) adequate documentation of experiments, observations (e.g. no errors in documentation acc. to current GDP, GMP and HA regulations/requirements, timely communication of GMP and HSE incidents/observations/deviations) and instrument-related activities.
- All assigned experiments executed following approved business processes (GMP, HSE) and procedures (SOP, WP, analytical procedure)
- All assigned instrumentation and lab area kept fully operable and in the required (compliance) status
- Positive customer satisfaction received from project teams and network/team members, with regards to quality, timelines and oversight.
- Fully responsible for all lab-associated analytical and documentation activities for assigned projects, creates appropriate work plan, summarizes and interprets results in the context of current project status, provides ideas for next experiments
- Increases knowledge of analytical techniques and/or specific analytical activities (e.g., cleaning validation) regarding breadth (e.g., additional techniques) and/or depth (e.g., in-depth understanding and skillset in selected techniques), up to being a point of contact for selected analytical techniques, coach for newcomers and peers locally/globally and assuming responsibility over technique-related analytical documents.
Minimum requirements:
- Minimum MS Degree in scientific or relevant discipline or equivalent.
- Fluency in speaking and written English and Mandarin are must.
- Passion for analytical experiments in the lab.
- Exact and efficient laboratory work also under GMP.
- Deep understanding of HSE requirements and save and conscious work in the lab.
- Good technical know how of standard lab equipment (HPLC; GC, NMR, LC/MS, Titration, KF)
- Software know-how: Office package, Chromeleon/ChemStation, eLN, ChemDraw.
- The following skills and experiences would be considered advantageous:
1. Structure elucidation of small molecules with MS/NMR/X-ray
2. Oligonucleotide or other solid phase synthesis polymer analysis
3. Leading innovation project in industrial setup
4. Leading operational excellence project in industrial setup
5. Developing or leveraging data and digital solutions, e.g. programming, visualization, modeling, AI, to solve scientific or operational questions
