Lead a Team of Supply Chain Managers, Clinical Supply Project Leaders, External Operations Managers and Project Manager managing multiple, complex, and demanding projects within Disease Areas. Optimally steering people and assets to best serve project needs according to priority and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions. Drives functional excellence. About the Role

  • Leads a Team functionally reporting into different functions in GCS as Operational Manager in a direct leadership role
  • Ensures high standards in objective setting, performance monitoring, review, and management, as well as development planning for associates are maintained.
  • Ensures that the most talented associates are hired, trained, and developed according to the respective business needs.
  • Contributes to definition and implementation of the global department strategy and ensure that both strategic and operational objectives for the Global line function are met or exceeded by setting appropriate priorities for the team.
  • Ensures the optimal organization of people, assets, and equipment in order to best serve project needs consistently and with high quality. Makes sure that all deliverables are achieved against agreed upon project timelines and with committed resources for all projects assigned to the team.
  • Ensures or supports that budget targets are maintained and in line with line function budget targets.
  • Supports the continuous improvement of processes to maintain high quality standards and operational excellence.
  • Ensures best practice sharing, knowledge exchange, and cross-functional support within the team and with partner organizations in respective line function and beyond (e.g. other TRD line functions and Tech Ops).
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant standards (e.g. HSE, GMP, ISEC). Ensures that all solutions and products are delivered in compliance with all relevant corporate and legal guidelines on HSE and quality requirements.
  • Achieves a true culture of empowerment and innovation, diversity and inclusion, trust, high performance, and continuous improvement mind-set in the team.
  • Ensures proactive Disease Area/Development Unit portfolio management and communication within the GCS Project Leadership organization.
  • Establishes strong business partnering with clinical and technical stakeholders to influence clinical supply strategy.
  • Ensures oversight of End-to-End supply strategy at DA/DU level in alignment with clinical requirements and technical constraints

Essential Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in science, engineering, or relevant discipline (Ph.D., MBA or equivalent)
  • Experience in SAP
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in Kinaxis RapidResponse
  • > 8years of practical experience in chemical / pharmaceutical industry or > 4 years of experience in field of expertise
  • Recognized expertise in related field.
  • Thorough knowledge about the Drug Development and Clinical Supply processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge about project management, excellent organization, and planning skills
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., GMP, HSE etc.) and Novartis specific standards.
  • Demonstrates cross-functional problem-solving and idea generation skills
  • Strong communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Advanced coaching skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural teams

Level 5: In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position, the minimum salary is €73,112.90/year (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications, and individual competencies.
