The Data Modeler is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of data models that support business processes and decision-making. This role involves leading a team of data modelers, collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and ensuring data models are aligned with Global Functions organizational goals.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Design and Development: Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using various database technologies.
  • Collaboration: Work with data architects, data engineers, business analysts, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into Data Products
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize Data models and Data consumption models for performance and scalability.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data models are accurate, consistent, and meet quality standards.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of data models, including data dictionaries and metadata.
  • Compliance: Ensure data models comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Data Strategy: Develop and implement data modeling strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with the latest data modeling tools and technologies, and implement best practices.
  • Data Governance: Develops and enforces data modeling governance policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with data regulations and standards.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for team members and stakeholders on data modeling concepts and tools.
  • Evaluation: Continuously evaluate and improve data modeling processes and methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure data models meet their needs.
  • Oversight: Oversees the development and lifecycle of data products. Ensures products meet user needs and business goals
  • Security: Protects data from unauthorized access and breaches. Implements security measures and monitors for threats.

Minimum Requirements:
Work Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in data modeling and allied data areas, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.

Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin), SQL, and big data - database management systems. Understanding of Big Data Platforms landscape. Basic Data Engineering skills is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing data modeling projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data modeling and documentation.

Languages :

  • English.
