Summary

Lead PDU Specialty Team (Parenteral and Sterile Dosage Forms) in Hyderabad India. Contribute as operational manager for specialty team to meet unit deliverables and to support the cultural evaluation and change management process. Ensuring Early-Phase and Late-Phase project deliverables are met and appropriately resourced, including through alignment with project and line function stakeholders.

About the Role

Main activities

  • Lead small team to ensure proper planning and management of the assigned Parenteral, Sterile and Topical portfolio that fall under responsibility of PDU Specialty India:
    • Support and drive Parenteral, Sterile and Topical project deliverables like timely availability of high- quality source documents, Development of DP as per TPP, clinical supply and manufacturing support activities for assigned specialty portfolio projects.
    • Ensure successful completion and compliance to different technical and PDC toll gates as part of product development.
  • Ensure adequate support to global project portfolio assigned to Specialty IN and support prioritization of activities in line with Global PHAD objectives.
  • Strengthen collaboration with stakeholders like GCS, RACMC, pilot plant, third party CMOs, TECH Ops and other stakeholders to achieve the successful R-D-C continuum.
  • Assume direct people management responsibility for all team associates in accordance with Novartis Value & Behaviors and ensure high standards in objective setting, performance monitoring, review and management as well as development planning.
  • Contributes to definition and implementation of the global line function strategy and ensure that both strategic and operational objectives for the global line function are met or exceeded set expectation.
  • Responsible for coordination of CapEx, OpEx, regarding planning, budgeting, and coordination with global PHAD finance team.
  • Establish robust succession plan for all critical roles like DPPL, FPL and ensure best and diverse talent is hired, trained and retained.
  • Target continuous improvement of our associate's engagement and contributions by providing clarity through regular discussions.
  • Support Global PHAD initiatives for Environmental Sustainability strategy by sustainable product design and optimum usage of resources.
  • Work within global line function leadership team to foster collaboration and resource alignment (proper project, people and budget) to meet organizational priorities.
  • Ensure best practices for knowledge sharing and cross functional support within global line function with other functions (e.g. across different PDUs (CPP, Specialty, Technikum) and ARD, RA CMC, QA and others.
  • Achieve a culture of build on high innovation, curiosity and truly unbossed to foster growth of individual and team.
  • Ensure timely support to global technical focus groups, networks and work stream and other project enabling initiatives.

Ideal Background

·       Minimum: Advanced degree in scientific or relevant discipline (Master or equivalent) Desirable: Ph.D. in scientific or relevant discipline or equivalent.

·       Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience (in a drug product development field of Parenteral, Sterile and Topical); minimum of 5 years in a project or network leadership or people management position with successful performance and track record or line/people manager in TRD, or a related industrial area (e.g. PHAD, NTO)

·       Good understanding of DP development.

·       Proven track record of successfully managing complex interfaces to other functions (e.g. ARD, NTO, RA-CMC, QA).

·       Interdisciplinary thinking and interest in collaboration with other functions.

·       Strong knowledge of relevant GxP regulations and policies.

·       Proven track record to work in and/or lead interdisciplinary and/or cross-cultural teams across geographies.
