About the Role
Expert Science & Technology (Lab Scientist) in Biologics Pharmaceutical Development
Be the change! Join our team of drug product experts at Novartis and help develop the next generation of innovative medicines for patients with unmet medical needs. Work with inspired colleagues who share a common purpose. Collaborate with development teams from other disciplines to drive the biologics portfolio of Novartis for various disease areas like oncology or neurosciences.
As Expert you will:
Plan, organize, execute and document experiments to develop state of the art drug product processes in lab scale and non-Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) pilot plant for products in development and commercial phase.
Contribute to maintenance and investments of lab instruments and laboratory infrastructure.
Author and review technical documents (e.g. instrument/lab procedures) and provide input to scientific reports by adequate raw data documentation.
Ensure required level of compliance and data integrity in our development laboratories to current Novartis quality guidelines.
What you will bring to the role:
Education / Experience: Professional education as a technician (chemistry, biotechnology, process engineering or equivalent) with min. 6 years of experience in a related field or a university degree in life sciences, chemistry, pharmacy or equivalent; MSc or BSc with min. 2 years of experience in a related field. Applicants with less experience may be considered at the level of Associate Expert.
Languages: German (fluent) and English (good command)
Technical knowledge:
Good knowledge/skills of laboratory and/or technical tools. Hands-on experience in pharmaceutical/chemical laboratory or manufacturing. Previous experience with sterile processes (e.g. filling) and working in a clean room environment is beneficial.
Basic skills knowledge of software and computer tools (MS Office).
Awareness for safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials, and equipment.
Open and curious mind with team spirit, who proactively contributes to the team while being self-organized.
Interest to work in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility and continuous learning.

In addition to a market-competitive base salary, we offer an attractive incentive program, a modern company pension scheme, childcare facilities, learning and development opportunities as well as worldwide career possibilities within the Novartis group. In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is €52.300/year (on a full-time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
We are open for part-time and job-sharing models and support flexible and remote working where possible.
