Job Description Summary
The Associate Director, Field Insights & Analytics xPortfolio, reporting to the Director, Field Insights & Analytics – X Portfolio, serves as a strategic partner to field leadership. This role delivers integrated insights, guides enterprise field analytics priorities, and leads end-to-end field execution governance. As the primary Insights & Decision Science (IDS) liaison to field teams, the AD ensures strong cross-TA alignment, robust knowledge management, and effective integration with enterprise data strategy initiatives.
This position will be located at East Hanover, NJ and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 15% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

Key Responsibilities:
Integrated Insights & Analytics Leadership
- Deliver integrated, high-impact insights that support data-driven decision-making across field functions.
- Lead prioritization of field analytics efforts across therapeutic areas to ensure focus on the highest-value opportunities.
- Partner with IDS and analytics teams to promote consistent methodologies and enhance analytical rigor.
Cross-Functional & Therapeutic Area Collaboration
- Act as a unifying partner across TAs, IDS pillars, and field leadership to ensure alignment on priorities, insights, and execution.
- Establish and reinforce strong collaboration practices that support cohesive field strategy and effective cross-functional execution.
Field Deployment Governance & Knowledge Management
- Oversee governance for end-to-end field deployment, including the definition and tracking of portfolio and functional interdependencies.
- Lead knowledge management for field deployment strategy and drive cross-pillar knowledge sharing to strengthen operational excellence.
Enterprise Data Strategy Partnership
- Collaborate with key enterprise stakeholders to shape and advance the field data strategy.
- Ensure alignment of field processes, KPIs, and requirements with enterprise analytics and data initiatives.
Executive Communication & Presentation Development
- Develop leadership-ready templates, narratives, presentations, and communication materials to support clear, compelling, data-driven storytelling
Essential Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Science or MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry with a focus on strategic insights, decision science, analytics, or related functions.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive enterprise-level initiatives.
- Demonstrated expertise in field analytics, integrated insights generation, and data-driven prioritization.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and senior-leadership influence skills.
- Experience with knowledge management and field execution processes.

Novartis Compensation Summary:
The salary for this position is expected to range between $152,600.00 and $283,400.00 per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
