As Chief Audit Officer of Novartis, Teresa and her team provide risk-based assurance and advice on key strategic topics to the Board and management, acting as a key partner to the organization to help anticipate and manage major risks and achieve the company’s long-term objectives.

My focus will be to enhance our ability to provide risk-based objective assurance and insight as we adapt to new technological advancements, industry transformations and an overall dynamic environment.

Teresa brings with her more than 30 years of experience at Novartis in various countries, divisional and corporate roles. Her most recent roles include Global Head of Business Planning & Analysis and Digital Finance, CFO Oncology and Country CFO UK. She has a proven record of driving substantial revenue and profit growth, managing several acquisitions and integrations, leading complex financial transformations and successfully steering the spin-off of Sandoz. Teresa joined Novartis in 1990.

With her experience across Asia, Europe and the US, Teresa offers a truly global perspective, deep financial acumen and leadership skills to navigate complex business challenges. As a leader, she is known for fostering an environment where colleagues feel accountable for outcomes, seek diverse ideas for problem-solving and trust each other. 

Teresa received her MBA from both Columbia and London Business School, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Bombay. She is also a certified cost accountant.

In her spare time Teresa loves to cook, travel and explore nature.
