Summary

Location: Basel, Switzerland Role Purpose: We are searching for an Analytical Technician with a strong focus on GMP analytics to support CHAD (Chemical and Analytical Development). CHAD is part of the Technical R&D department of Development and is responsible to deliver drug substances (classical small molecules, radioligand therapies and siRNAs) for clinical studies. This responsibility encompasses process and analytical development, as well as GMP manufacture. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Technician with a strong background and experience in GMP analytics, and more specially for our In-Process Control (IPC) laboratory.

About the Role

Main Responsibilities:

• With your strong expertise, you take a leading role in adapt/familiarize, qualify or validate analytical control methods and standards for classical small molecules, siRNA, antibody drug conjugate and radioligand therapy projects, with a strong focus on IPC methods

• You will then implement these methods under GMP, which will allow the timely manufacture of drug substances under GMP

• You will perform analytical activities for the cleaning verification/validation of the pilot plant

• You will be responsible to document your analytical activities by following the Novartis GMP requirements. Documentation includes analytical batch data, validation summary/report and analytical methods if needed.

• You will be in close contact with the drug substance development team as well as with the colleagues from the pilot plant.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in the application analytical techniques using advanced separation and detection technologies (e.g. UHPLC, GC, HS-GC and related hyphenated techniques including mass spectroscopy)

• Dedicated, thoughtful and flexible team working skills.

• Good knowledge of English (oral and written) is desirable, good command of German (spoken/ written) is required.

• Excellent knowledge of laboratory and/or technical tools

• Good knowledge of software and computer tools such as Office package

Desirable Requirements:

• We are looking for candidates with completed apprenticeship as laboratory technician (Laborant/-in Chemie EFZ). The position is also open to applicants with BSc or MSc in the field of analytical chemistry or equivalent.

• Hands-on experience in analytical chemistry under GMP.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in field of quality control preferably in  IPC laboratory, chemical intermediates or drug substance analytics.
