Summary

This person as Data Engineer, will be responsible for manage core data infrastructure, ensuring data is available and accessible within a Data & Analytics team or any data related project. In addition, acts as the bridge between Business Analysts and Data Scientists, and build well tested, up to date and documented datasets that franchise can use to answer their own questions.

About the Role

Major Accountabilities (Describe the 5-7 main results of this role to be achieved)

  • Assist the Data & Analytics team with technical issues and support data infrastructure needs
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists towards greater efficiency and functionality in data processes
  • Design, build, test, and maintain optimal data platform architecture in either AWS or Snowflake with DD&IT (i.e. IT Dept.)
  • Specifically, leverage Snowflake’s advanced capabilities to manage and optimize large-scale data warehousing and analytics.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources in partnership with DD&IT
  • Apply data practices in the aspect of data quality, data security, and data governance

  • Customer satisfaction evaluation
  • Customer satisfaction rating / feedback by internal stakeholders (Business Franchise Head, relevant management members, and DD&IT members)
  • Analytics projects resulting in better decision making or tangible actions
  • Literacy improvement as well as culture to make fact & data-driven decision making

Background (State the required education, experience level, and competency profile)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and above in Analytics, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related fields

Experience/Professional requirement:          

  • Experience designing efficient, robust, and automated data pipelines and ETL workflows and developing cloud-based solutions using AWS, Snowflake, or other cloud providers in the pharmaceutical industry, marketing, etc.
  • Experience with Snowflake is particularly important due to its advanced capabilities in handling large-scale data warehousing and analytics.
  • Strong knowledge in at least one object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as Scala, Python, Java, C++ etc
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and familiarity with a variety of SQL and noSQL databases
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Professional record demonstrating business impact; domain experience in areas such as pharmaceutical industry, customer analytics, CRM, and digital marketing will be beneficial
  • Excellent documentation, communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain and present the findings of technical work to non-expert audiences
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to integrate well into a team and build effective relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively leading and managing cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
  • Proven ability to foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, ensuring open communication and knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with global teams
  • Previous track record of successfully delegating tasks, setting performance expectations, and providing constructive feedback to team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts, promote employee engagement, and maintain a positive work culture.
  • Substantial leadership experience in guiding teams through complex projects, making critical decisions, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to inspire and influence others towards achieving organizational goals, fostering a sense of ownership and dedication.
  • Proven expertise in leading teams through organizational changes, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in the face of shifting priorities.
