Summary

Internal title will be BPA Manager.

As BPA manager you will combine commercial business partnering – supporting the commercial franchises through analysis, future looking projections and ‘what if’ scenarios – with FP&A management – working with departments on spending plans to drive efficiency and maximise returns – presenting key messages and decision points to senior management.

You will form the link between key business performance indicators, both quantitative and qualitative, and the financials over the short and medium term, guiding management on the key dynamics and highlighting the primary decision points to deliver our company strategy.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working across both finance and wider commercial & support functions, monitor and drive cost efficiency throughout the company.  Develop reporting that, not only acts as an early warning system on spend, but also creates agility in investment decisions, able to re-direct company resources to maximize returns, while always remaining within overall cost targets
  • Become a trusted partner to the business:
  • Working hand in hand with the business to balance challenge and support to drive decision making that helps us deliver our company strategy
  • Build the bridge between KPIs and financials, allowing Finance and the business to understand and highlight the drivers of current financial performance and what this means for the future
  • Prepare ‘what if’ scenarios to simulate financial impacts of potential actions, working with wider commercial and support teams to translate these actions and commercial KPIs into financials, providing clear recommendations to management
  • Coordinate business inputs into the financial processes (Budget processes, monthly and quarter closing, etc), managing the needs of the finance team
  • Develop high quality and insightful reporting that allows top management to quickly understand core dynamics and areas for potential action, translating often complex situations into simple messages and decision points
  • Strong communication, clearly and concisely presenting analysis and conclusions, often to non-Finance people, ensuring drivers, recommendations and consequences are fully evaluated and understood
  • Strive for efficiency in Finance processes, being goal focused to continually review how we work, removing unnecessary processes to focus on how we add value to Novartis, meeting the changing needs of the company

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in relevant area ideally or equivalent experience
  • Good experience in a related role
  • Fluent English written and verbal
  • Strong Project and Financial Management skills
  • Strong communication and relationship skills
