About the Role

Location: Shanghai

About the role:
To drive and champion business growth in region by screening opportunities for China and to identifying materially sized, late-stage commercial deals

Key Responsibilities:
• Define Regional (China) S&E Commercial Priorities
• Bring creative and appropriate deals to the global S&E team for China Commercial deals
• Lead the execution of finding activities and alignment with strategic priority targets oversee evaluation of partnerships at multiple levels (Triage, DD)
• Lead business growth by conducting S&E activities with a deal-type agnostic mindset beyond ‘single asset deals’ fostering creative thinking (portfolio swaps, co-commercialization deals, and acquisitions)
• Support structuring of transactions and negotiations as a member of the deal team (e.g. License deals, JV, divestments etc.)
• Foster collaboration throughout Novartis China organization to align regional commercial interests
• Reporting on company meetings to align with the broader S&G organization

Role Requirements

Essential Requirements:
• Master degree and above in clinical medicine, pharmacy, biology, chemistry and other related majors
• At least 6 years of experience in BD and/or Investment Banking/Consulting for pharmaceutical industries
• Strong connection within Pharma/Biotech community not just in China but globally would be a plus, deal Transaction experience would be a huge plus.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skill
• Strong collaboration skill
• Excellent English and Mandarin
