About the Role
Your Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Lead and further develop the overall design and performance of Novartis’ Global Health presence in India. Collaborate with local stakeholders and global leaders to set strategy.
- In collaboration with the SCD & Leprosy leads, further refine and drive a clear Health System Strengthening (HSS) vision and strategy (based on global vision/strategy) and ensure that these are reflected in a focused and responsive organization.
- Working closely with the Key Account Management (KAM)/New business opportunity lead, develop Arogya Parivar’s Global Health product pipeline and portfolio and maximize success of key launches through effective leadership across the functions, building future capabilities, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration and optimal management of resources. Establish and manage teams to execute strategies that proactively shape market environment where relevant.
- Lead and manage effective external stakeholder engagement across the key disease area landscapes to drive agreed outcome goals. As head of Global health & the Arogya Parivar program you will be expected to directly create and execute stakeholder strategies with key GOI ministries, regulators, NGOs, KOLs, distributors and other key actors to maximize engagement and ensure all parties are deriving value and are mutually benefitting through relationships.
- Drive and foster an unbossed, inspired & culture. Lead top-level talent acquisition, succession planning and development of all associates within the organization. Support teams to drive a culture of rigor /discipline in delivering on KPIs, and effectively managing partners against this.
- Provide a strong and consistent voice in global and regional Novartis forums and inputs on local needs into global and regional strategic decisions. Bring best practices and learnings into global forums to further GH&S’s work in focus disease areas.
- Build strong partnerships across internal teams within the Country Organization and at the global level, ensuring strategic and operational alignment across Novartis, and effectively navigating input and collaboration across these different teams.
- Act as head and public face of GH&S in India, ensuring legal and ethical conduct, corporate compliance, and adherence to company guidelines and procedures.
Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Degree in business or health related subject. MBA desirable
- Leadership: ability to empower a small team, instill new ways of working, establish trusted relationships quickly and drive short-, medium- and long-term impact. Experience in a change management process desired. People management is required
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to drive root cause analyses, effectively synthesize information, analyze market trends, identify key growth opportunities and develop effective strategies. Fosters a culture of ‘out of the box’ thinking and has experience in developing and executing new ideas that involve complex environments. Strong analytical mindset.
- Public Health Expertise: Experience in designing and executing public health programs, preferably with an understanding of rural/last mile approaches and in partnership with governments. Understanding of local public health landscape, including key government, NGO and donor actors.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and key external stakeholders at various levels, including government at national, state and district levels.
- Commercial Expertise: Experience in a commercial setting, with an understanding of key account management, managing sales forces and achieving revenue targets. Preference for experience in public sector procurement.
- Solution-Oriented & Results Driven: Strong problem-solving skills to work through complex ecosystems and provide tailored solutions; proven ability to meet or exceed established targets and milestones.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, both internal and external to drive alignment, build trust and execute strategies.
